205 Ceramic

- Exceeds
EPA's "purifier" requirements for bacteria and protozoa
removal.
- Low
cost per liter.
- Can
be cleaned up to 40 times for superior recovery
- Excellent
Longevity
Carbon
Block Filter
Removes
dangerous organic chemicals such as iodine, pesticides, chlorine. This
feature distinguishes the EX technologies from other pump-style filters
such as Katadyn Pocket filter which DO NOT have the capability to remove
organic chemicals originating from industrial, agricultural or other
sources.
PES
Membrane
- Greater
Than 99.99999% Effective
- Removes
greater than 99.99999% of Brevundimonas Diminuta, a
0.3-micron bacteria equal in size to the smallest
disease-causing bacteria.
- Will
not let bacteria through regardless of pump rate or degree of clogging.
- Removes
viruses attached to 0.2-micron or larger particles
- Provides
protection from potential bacterial "grow through" of the
ceramic carbon element.
We are particularly impressed with
the PES membrane technology since we also use it in a privately owned
dental infection control company product called Clearline Plus.
This PES material
is described in Dental Waterline
Filtration on this Internet site.
The PES membrane
is therefore medical grade technology applied
to commercial needs such as the Waterworks EX.
We have extremely
high confidence in the Polysulfone materials used in our dental filtration
systems as well as (now) in the Waterworks EX filtration systems.
Ceramic
Gauge
Measures
thickness of the ceramic element so that you know when to replace it.
NOTE: Each time the ceramic element is cleaned, a layer of ceramic is
removed.
As
this ceramic element gets smaller and smaller in diameter, the unit
approaches the point where the cartridge is no longer considered an
effective barrier against microbial contamination.
The
point at which this "limit" is reached is determined by a
small caliper which, when it fits or slides over the exterior diameter
of the ceramic element, determines when the cartridge element must be
replaced.
Tip
for Virus Removal
For
virus removal, treat water first with iodine tablets, following manufacturer's
directions. Filter iodine-treated water through WaterWorks EX filter
for the ultimate in protection. The filter's activated carbon core will
remove the iodine and its taste.
