COMMERCIAL MULTI-MEDIA FILTERS

CMWF SERIES Commercial MultiMedia Filters have been designed for commercial and small industrial applications where pipe sizes of 1" to 2" are encountered.Multimedia Filters are used for removal of sediment and suspended particulate matter and are capable of filtering down to lO microns in size.

The Multimedia Filter uses a variety of different media types distinctly layered with the coarsest media found on top and the finest at the bottom. This layering of the media allows the larger particles to be removed near the top of the bed while the smaller particles are filtered out toward the bottom.

The suspended matter is filtered throughout the entire media bed depth rather than forming a layer on top and only filtering in the top few inches of the bed.Advantages over conventional sand filters include longer service runs, lower pressure drop, finer particulate filtration and less chance of turbidity leakage due to flow rate surges.

The CMWF SERIES Commercial Multimedia Filters are de signed using a Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester Resin (FRP) mineral tank which features a one-piece construction rated for 150 psi and is approximately one-third the weight of steel tanks. Graded layers of Anthracite, Garnet and Gravel are used to compose the media bed.

The systems contain a lower distribution system (20" diameter tanks and larger utilize a hub and lateral) to assure an even flow through the media bed during backwash.High quality, time proven Fleck Top-Mount Control Valves are used on all systems. The 24" to 36" diameter Filters are also manufactured using a controller and plastic diaphragm valve nest.

These systems are used primarily in applications where the feed water is corrosive (Eg. Seawater) and contain a pressure differential switch which monitors the pressure before and after the filter assuring system backwash when a preset pressure differential is reached.

Each system is fully automatic and backwash is initiated by either a time clock or by the pressure differential switch. Systems are available in for either 120 VAC @ 60 Hz or 220VAC @ 50 Hz.

The IMWF SERIES Industrial Multimedia Filters are designed using a non-code, steel, epoxy lined mineral tank rated for 100 psi (ASME code tanks optional) The outside of the tank is painted with a rust inhibiting primer. The 20" to 30" diameter systems use either a Fleck 3150 backwash control valve or a controller and diaphragm valve nest.

The 42" to 72" diameter systems use a controller and diaphragm valve nest to control the system backwash and operation.A PVC hub and lateral system is used as the bottom distributor to assure an even flow of water through the media bed during backwash.

The IMWF systems use several layers of media including gravel, graded layers of garnet and anthracite. Manual and custom designed systems are available on request. Systems are available for 120VAC @ 60Hz or @220 VAC @50 Hz.
