After
analyzing various water treatment devices and microbiological tests,
the US Marines chose the 16.1 oz MiniWorks ceramic micro-filter for
world-wide use by its Amphibious Raids & Reconnaissance Division
Miniworks
incorporates all of the features of WaterWorks EX, with the exception
of the PES medical-grade post filtration element.
It is slightly
shorter and lighter than the WaterWorks EX.
The MiniWorks
Filter is the most cost-effective, easy-to-use portable water filter
on the market.
It effectively
removes bacteria and protozoa including Giardia, and Cryptosporidia.
It also removes chemicals including pesticides, industrial pollutants,
iodine and chlorine, and taste and odor compounds.
Compact
and lightweight at just 7.8" long and 3.8" in diameter, it
fits easily into the smallest pack.

Ceramic
Gauge
Measures
thickness of the ceramic element so that you know when to replace
it. NOTE: Each time the ceramic element is cleaned, a layer of ceramic
is removed.
As
this ceramic element gets smaller and smaller in diameter, the unit
approaches the point where the cartridge is no longer considered an
effective barrier against microbial contamination.
The
point at which this "limit" is reached is determined by
a small caliper which, when it fits or slides over the exterior diameter
of the ceramic element, determines when the cartridge element must
be replaced.
Tip
for Virus Removal
For
virus removal, treat water first with iodine tablets, following manufacturer's
directions. Filter iodine-treated water through MiniWorks filter for
the ultimate in protection. The filter's activated carbon core will
remove the iodine and its taste.
