Waterwise and their so-called "experts" who attempt to discredit functional water and their human and industrial applications clearly have not been following 20 years of research and applications in these fields.
What is particularly disturbing is that Waterwise for the most part is a strong and knowledgeable proponent of healthy water, namely distilled water(as we are) but are unable to understand how such pure water can be taken to the next level of effectiveness in hydration, de-toxification, inter-cellular communication and nutrient absorption.
It is beyond the scope of this introductory paragraph to detail all of the disinformation being promoted by Waterwise in their recent "expose". Suffice it to say that this pamphlet does more to damage the credibility of Waterwise and its promotion of healthy water than cast aspersions on hundreds of scientific papers, a multitude of operational industrial and medical applications by accredited individuals who have exceptional knowledge of how water interacts with the body at a cellular level.
We are sorry to see an organization which has provided substantial contributions to the basics of pure water for many years become an unwitting tool for angry and disoriented "scientists" who have nothing more to do than attempt to find fault with areas of science of which they clearly have little or no first hand knowledge.

VERIFYING THE PRESENCE OF HEXAGONAL WATER CLUSTERS
The application of pulsed Nuclear Magnetic Resonance(NMR) techniques in the area of biological systems has increased, and such NMR studies can provide valuable information about the kinetic properties of water, and indicating that NMR relaxation times reflect the reduced mobility of hydrated or bound water.
Data using Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI) has become an accepted method to check on the density/clustering of water molecules. The (half) line widths indicate the size of the molecule or water cluster as determined by its rate of rotation or relaxation time. Normal tap water will measure around 120 Hz.
This higher number indicates that the water molecules have "clumped together" around selected types of "structure breaking" ions and occur in large clusters(dozens if not hundreds of molecules per cluster) thus making it extremely difficult for the group of molecules to penetrate the cellular membrane(see figure below).
On the other hand, NMR Imaging has shown the half line widths of the Vitalizer Plus™ water clusters are as small as 63 hz. This indicates that from a statistical point of view, the water is indeed hexagonal in formation, containing on the average 6 water molecules per cluster. Few if any bottled concentrates, natural or bottled waters are found with structures this small.
Critics of this type of functional water claim that such tests are invalid - basically exposing themselves to their denial of the efficacy of such well-known medical diagnostic techniques as MRI's which have been in use in hundreds of locations for two dozen years or more. We can't educate all of the chemists in the world to water physics - so we will let them stagnate in their own ignorance and denial of an area of rapidly growing quantum and particle physics.

RAPID AND EFFICIENT HYDRATION OF CELLS

In 2003 the Chinese Health Care Science and Technology Society organized an international cooperative research project to compare distilled water (DW) and one kind of US patented Microclustered Water (MW), called ìVIVOî, which was awarded by the US National Nutritional Foods Association as the ìBest Nutritional Beverage in Year 2002î.Recent Bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) studies also showed that diabetics had a lower ratio of intracellular water (ICW) / extracellular water (ECW). A total of 336 type 2 diabetics (blood sugar level >7.0mmol/L) from 5 hospitals were recruited in a randomized, double-blind trial. In this study, about 45% of the subjects (147 patients) had relatively higher blood sugar levels (>8.3 mmol/L).
All subjects received 250 ml of MW or DW twice daily for 4 weeks. To avoid over-dose absorption, subjects were advised not take medications within 30 minutes after drinking the test solutions. BIA (RJL Systems, USA) and other clinic markers were performed weekly. It was observed that MW consumption improved cell water distribution (ICW/ECW), basal metabolic rate (BMR), phase angle (PA) and cell capacitance (CP) during the 4 week test period.
In the beginning of the study, there were no significant differences between DW group (75 subjects) and MW group (72 subjects) comparing four BIA physiological baseline parameters (P>0.05). However, at the end of the experiment, the P values (MW vs. DW) of ICW/ECW, BMR, PA and CP were 0.025, 0.022, 0.007 and 0.009, respectively.Oxygen-17 NMR half value spectra of MW are 64 to 67HZ, values approximating normal saline, plasma and fresh natural spring water, while DW half values exceed 115 HZ. The relative small size of the water cluster may be one of the mechanisms which lead to improved cell structure and function.
We continue to be surprised by individuals calling themselves "chemists" and "NMR experts" who hyperventilate because they do not understand the various reports, studies, measurement techniques and other validated science surrounding this type of functional water.
We will allow these "naysayers" the luxury of their continued ignorance and proceed with the task of helping our fellowmen by way of advancing science.
VITALIZER PLUS™ INCREASES OXYGEN CONTENT
Oxygen is a powerful element in maintaining vibrant cellular health.
Most people(doctors included) think we take oxygen only through the air we breathe. When exposed to a vortex, oxygen can be bonded to water molecules. Such an effect can be observed in mountain streams where millions of small, swirling vortices capture and bond oxygen into the passing water.

REGARDING HIGH CHOLESTEROL: "Cholesterol is a naturally-produced, waxy substance that is found throughout the body. It is a funcitonal part of cell walls and a building block in the production of various hormones and Vitamin D. While the buildup of cholesterol in arteries can be harmful, mounting evidence suggests that cholesterol is the body's solution to a bigger problem - dehydration.

It is very important to put steam distilled or high quality reverse osmosis water into the Vitalizer Plus™. Distilled water will provide a higher quality product and more consistent results. Good quality distilled water usually measures between 1 and 2 milligrams per liter of residual, total dissolved solids(TDS).
If you are using reverse osmosis water, be sure your R/O unit is working properly and effectively removing most of the dissolved minerals from the original tap water. If the residual TDS from your reverse osmosis system is five(5) milligrams per liter or less you can expect very good results using R/O water. If your TDS is 20 milligrams per liter or greater, results will be marginal at best.
Have your home use distilled or reverse osmosis water tested regularly by a reputable water store or water dealer to ensure that you are using purified water which will yield noticeable and consistent results.
(Filtered or spring water may be used, but possible contamination(chemicals and structure breaking ions makes this far less desirable. Under no circumstances use unfiltered tap water.)(see diagram immediately preceeding this section).After processing the water, store the vitalized water in a separate container. Twenty-seven minutes of processing provides a balancing therapeutic water that allows the body to detox in a comfortable manner in most instances. Two, twenty-seven minute cycles brings the water to a highly aggressive therapeutic detox range that should only be used for health restoration or drinking a couple of ounces at a time several times per day, in addition to more water at lower levels to keep properly hydrated.(see caution below).
(Half your body weight will give you the numerical number of ounces of pure, energized water you should be drinking per day. Athletes and active individuals should drink more.)
Higher levels, like three or four twenty-seven-minute cycles, have been used to aid the body in relieving dental pain by taking a tablespoon and "swishing" it in the mouth before swallowing. This should not replace the advice of your health care provider. Half ounce to one ounce ingestion several times per day may aid the body's system in dealing with infections and pathogens, but no claim can or is to be made here.
